It was ‘beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ at TriCare Mt Gravatt Retirement Community’s Christmas in July Party last Wednesday with over 60 residents joining in the winter wonderland celebrations.
Residents enjoyed a traditional Christmas meal of cauliflower and bacon soup then roast ham with baked potatoes, pumpkin and beans, followed by Christmas pudding and custard for dessert!
Chef Marie Bennett was on site from 7:30am preparing the delicious meal! It was a wonderful team effort with support for the function provided by the village manager, administration officer, two kitchen assistants the environmental services team leader and the environmental services attendant.
Residents shared in the festivities with traditional Bon Bon opening and plenty of merry chatter! Others wore Santa hats and reindeer horns, whilst Merv was the lucky village elf for the event!
