TriCares’s Aged Care Residences got into the spooky spirit of Halloween recently, with staff and residents alike embracing all that is ghoulish and ghostly! Each Aged Care Residence embraced the occasion a little bit differently, but everyone looked like they were having a lot of fun!
Creepy BBQ at Mermaid Beach
Mermaid Beach added a fun and creepy theme to their monthly BBQ. Residents, staff, and their families delighted in the spooky festivities, complemented by captivating music. Everyone had a blast, sharing laughter, smiles, and creating lasting memories.
Spooky mocktails at Jindalee
Our Jindalee residents enjoyed some “Spooky Mocktails” in celebration of Halloween. The Lifestyle Team used lychees and blueberries to make an eyeball pierced with a tooth pick, and used raspberry and lime cordial in their plastic syringes. Our residents had great fun with it, and everyone asked for a second one! They also had a blow-up skeleton, who was quite loved, as he got passed around like a bag of lollies. The residents named him Buck!
Spreading joy at Mt Gravatt
Our Mt Gravatt residents and staff had a fantastic time at their Halloween event, savouring sweet treats and embracing the excitement of “Trick or Treat”! As a wonderful bonus, the children from Mansfield State School and our staff visited residents with limited mobility, sharing chocolates and lollies. It’s a reminder that the spirit of Halloween is not a just about the tricks (or even the sweet treats), it’s also about spreading joy and building connections. A big thank you to Mansfield Primary State School students (Timothy in Year 5 and Noah in Year 3) and our staff for getting in the spirit of Halloween with their spooky costumes!
Ghoulishly good treats at Upper Mt Gravatt
Our Upper Mount Gravatt residents had a lot of fun celebrating Halloween this week, along with our staff. The Lifestyle Team got their creative juices flowing, making a ghoulishly good selection of scary cupcakes, creepy cookies, spooky sweets, and devilish sausages. Everyone had a lot of fun at our Halloween morning tea!
Dress-up fun at Kawana Waters
It was great to see so many staff members dress up for Halloween at Kawana Waters. They had fun prizes for best dressed, with our resident who dressed up as a witch winning first prize! Halloween activities included spooky market day in the morning complete with treats, and spooky bingo in the afternoon. Plus we had Halloween buckets of candy at all our nurses stations and receptions for everyone to enjoy. It was a day full of fun and laughter!
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed getting in on the fun of Halloween – and so did our staff! At TriCare, it’s important to us that our residents live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment. Thanks to the staff and residents for sharing their unique take on Halloween celebrations and making memories this year.
