TriCare James Ommaney Retirement Community residents recently raised a glass in celebration of its 30th birthday earlier this month.
TriCare James Ommaney was built in 1986 and was officially opened, with much fan fare, by Senator Lady Bjelke-Petersen on Saturday September 12, 1987.
Situated in a quiet leafy street in Mt Ommaney, close to all amenities, the Village has built a strong reputation over the years as a close knit community.
Village Social Committee Chair, Wendy Stuart, said plans to mark the occasion had been in train for a while.
“We wanted to make sure it was a celebration to not only mark the 30th birthday, but also celebrate what a wonderful place TriCare James Ommaney is.
It is a lovely friendly village where everyone looks after each other, it really is a five star place to live,” said Mrs Stuart.
With a glass of champagne on arrival, residents celebrated with a delicious lunch prepared by the in-house kitchen team in the Village’s dining room.
Having lived at the Village for over 12 years, Gail Proven had the honour of cutting the beautifully decorated homemade birthday cake.
Village Manager, Steven Pashley, said the Village still looks as fresh and welcoming as it did when it first opened.
“This is all thanks to the vibrant residents that contribute to everyday life here,” said Mr Pashley.
