This makes a huge difference for couples who may age differently, such as our Cypress Gardens residents Pat and Bill. When Pat suffered a stroke several years ago, her mobility was impacted, which means she now requires a higher level of care. This changed their future plans significantly, and it was decided that Pat would move into Cypress Gardens Aged Care Residence. To be near Pat, Bill purchased a one-bedroom unit in the neighbouring Retirement Community, and he takes the short 50 metre walk to visit Pat every day. ‘I spend most of every day with Pat. In all the three years I’ve only missed one day,’ he says.
