A number of residents and staff at TriCare Compton Gardens Retirement Community were recently recognised for their contribution to their community at a ceremony hosted by Federal Member for Petrie, Luke Howarth MP.
An initiative of Mr Howarth, the Petrie Excellence in Aged Care Awards aim to promote the positive contribution residents and staff are making to their local retirement communities and aged care facilities.
Mr Howarth said he created the Petrie Excellence in Aged Care Awards in his electorate because he wanted to shine a light on the many positive aspects in the industry.
“The Awards are a great opportunity to hear the incredible stories and recognize the wonderful people who work in this industry, whether they be residents, administration staff, carers or maintenance crews.
I look forward to attending many more ceremonies like this one held today at TriCare Compton Gardens Retirement Community in the coming months.”
The ceremony was held in TriCare Compton Gardens’ auditorium with a number of residents and staff in attendance.
Village Manager, Sandra Lasserre said she, along with the staff and residents awarded on the day, were very proud to be recognized for doing a job they love.
“It was an honour to be acknowledged in the Petrie Excellence in Aged Care Awards and to have Mr Luke Howarth MP here today presenting to our Village.”
Residents Colleen Mayhill and Ern Martin received awards on the day, along with staff members from the administration team, grounds and gardens and the Village’s in-house chef.
