Residents and staff at TriCare Mt Gravatt Retirement Community have a full week of activities in celebration of Queensland Seniors Week.
Village Manager, Tammy Watt says Seniors Week is always an important time on TriCare Mt Gravatt’s social calendar as it provides even more opportunities for residents to get out and about in their community.
“We have a very active group of residents at TriCare Mt Gravatt who love any chance to connect with their local community and experience new things.”
“The coming week has them participating in a range of activities nearly every day. Residents can participate in as much or as little as they like whilst always feeling part of our vibrant community,” said Mrs Watt.
The week begins with a morning tea to welcome new residents and celebrate August birthdays with a delicious homemade cake cooked by the Village’s in-house chef, David Alderson.
On Tuesday residents will be attending the Logan loves Seniors Day at the Logan Entertainment Centre which will showcase more than 40 exhibitors, free workshops, morning tea and a musical tribute to The Carpenters.
There will be kite making during the Village’s popular Colour Calming session on Wednesday and residents have the chance to attend the Australian Army Band concert at Kedron Wavell Services Club at the end of the week.
“This is in addition to our usual busy week of activities which includes scrabble, knitting, Rummikub, exercises, various card games, bingo and indoor bowls.”
“With a number of options to choose from everyday, our residents continue to lead active and full lives at TriCare Mt Gravatt with no time to get bored!” said Mrs Watt.
