Serviced apartments promote independent living, with residents benefiting from a range of social and recreational activities so there’s no time to feel lonely or bored at TriCare Mt Gravatt Retirement Community.
Keith Deighton moved into a serviced apartment at TriCare Mt Gravatt six years ago after his wife passed away.
He was tired of living on his own, managing the day to day tasks of running a house and garden. His son suggested the move into a retirement village and he has never looked back.
“The best thing about living here is the company and good friends I have made. I’ll wander down to the communal lounge, and within minutes I will be chatting away with another resident.
“Everyone is very friendly, and the staff are all so helpful; no request is too much,” said Mr Deighton.
Serviced apartments at TriCare Mt Gravatt give residents an independent lifestyle with all meals, cleaning and heavy laundry taken care of, leaving time to enjoy their social and professional lives as they wish.
TriCare Mt Gravatt Village Manager, Tammy Watt, said that staff also get involved in many of the social functions that the Village holds.
“We hold themed events a few times a year, most recently a ‘Flower Power’ party held at the end of April. Residents and staff got into the spirit of things, dressing up in 60’s and 70’s clothes, wearing flowers in their hair, listening to the great music of that era’, said Ms Watt.
An action packed calendar, makes sure there is plenty to get involved in each week at the Village. Scrabble, indoor bowls, snooker, tai chi, music sessions, regular bus outings to local restaurants and sightseeing, along with gentle exercise classes makes for a busy week.
“There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, and no time to get lonely!”says Mr Deighton.
