Located on a stunning waterfront canal estate at the northern end of the Gold Coast, family owned and operated TriCare Runaway Bay Retirement Community offers its residents the perfect setting for a range of activities.
Whether it is a hit of tennis or a swim in one of the Community’s three pools, there are many options to participate in activities that add to the social vibrancy at Runaway Bay Retirement Community.
One of the more popular activities at Runaway Bay Retirement Community includes the years ago establishment of a lawn bowls club on site, aptly named ‘The Runaways’.
Three times a week you will find 24 fit and fabulous residents on the purpose built three rink outdoor bowls green.
Claude McCasker, and his wife Dawn, have been active members of ‘The Runaways’ since they moved to Runaway Bay Retirement Community 11 years ago.
“My wife and I have played bowls for years. We enjoy the social side of being part of the Club, just as much as the fitness,” said Mr McCasker.
“There is nothing better than playing with a group of friends each week, and finishing off with the all important post game drink and chat. It’s a very genial atmosphere.”
“Anyone who lives at Runaway Bay Retirement Community is welcome to play – singles, husbands and wives, young and old – our eldest player is 95!,” said Mr McCasker.
And if bowling isn’t your thing, there is always tennis, swimming, golf, tai chi, croquet, billiards…….the list goes on!
