Discover many treasures and delicious delights at the annual TriCare Compton Gardens Retirement Village’s Spring Fair, Saturday October 21.
Held in the Village’s beautifully landscaped gardens, visitors will be spoilt for choice with a range of homemade cakes, craft and the ever popular white elephant stall.
A favourite on the social calendar, the Spring Fair is also an occasion where the local community can take a tour of TriCare Compton Gardens.
Village Manager, Sandra Lasserre said the Spring Fair originally began as an open day over 14 years ago.
“Guests can now enjoy a delicious morning tea or lunch, after browsing the many stalls run by the residents.
It’s a great opportunity for people to come along, meet the residents and have a tour of the Village’s accommodation options,” said Mrs Lasserre.
A popular with the locals, the plant stall will as usual be packed with seedlings and plants, all tended to with loving care by resident and gardening enthusiast, Jean Walker. So dedicated to her stall, Mrs Walker plans her what to plant 12 months in advance.
Joan Hutchins, Chair of TriCare Compton Gardens’ social committee has been busy working with stall holders to ensure it’s another successful event.
“We are so pleased to open up our wonderful Village to the community and share our cooking, craft and treasures. It really is a great day out for all the family.
My tip would be to come early – everything sells like hot cakes, literally!” said Mrs Hutchins.
The Spring Fair opens at 8.30am – 1pm at TriCare Compton Gardens Retirement Village, 97 Albany Creek Road, Aspley.
