With roles in highly regulated environments including banking, business and now aged care, Judy Carter counts her role as Facility Manager at TriCare Cypress Gardens Aged Care Residence as a position of privilege.
As one of TriCare’s longest serving aged care Facility Managers, Mrs Carter says she finds enjoyment and satisfaction in serving the residents and their families.
“We bridge the gap when family can’t always be there, caring for the whole person, not just their clinical needs.”
“Our residents are our absolute focus,” she said.
TriCare Cypress Gardens boasts a strong staff retention rate with the heads of maintenance, housekeeping and administration all clocking up close to 30 years combined, a sign that they share a similar philosophy of care.
With close to nine months since TriCare Cypress Gardens unveiled its new $18 million wing, renovations to the existing building are now complete.
Mrs Carter said that staff have worked tirelessly to ensure the transition from old to new has had minimal impact on residents.
“The existing building has been beautifully transformed as part of the refurbishment resulting in a bright, modern and fresh version of aged care.
“Highlights of the refurbishment include new floor coverings, German designed and built automated beds, new furniture and art works all complementing the premium accommodation in the new wing.”
Complete with a cafe, hair salon, luxurious social interaction zones and fresh nutritious meals prepared daily by the on-site chef, the new extension provides a very modern take on the future of aged care living.
“There is now a seamless transition between the existing and the new, with of course, the same high level of care across the entire Residence,” she said.
