Over the past month, Merle Edmonds was busy packing up her house of 44 years and getting ready for one of the biggest changes in her life.
Recently moving into her new apartment at TriCare James Ommaney Retirement Community, Mrs Edmonds hasn’t looked back.
Mrs Edmonds was motivated to move because she found that living alone in a large house was overwhelming.
“There was always so much maintenance, such as cleaning out the gutters or keeping the garden neat and tidy.
And it wasn’t just the amount of work that needed to be done, it was also the cost of the maintenance,” she said.
Having always lived in the Mt Ommaney area, the local move to TriCare James Ommaney made it all that much easier.
Village Manager, Steven Pashley, said that TriCare James Ommaney appeals to many because it is centrally located and close to many amenities including supermarkets, DFO, Jindalee Golf Club and the local bowls club.
“We have a community bus that makes regular trips to the shops or residents can use their own car and need only drive 5 mins down the road to do their shopping, dine out at the many eateries or go to medical appointments”.
Mrs Edmonds says she loved the look and feel of TriCare James Ommaney straight away with its welcoming, homelike ambience.
“The residents I have met express real joy in living here and the staff can’t do enough for you.
My new home is a quiet light filled apartment with an open spacious feel. I am really looking forward to the new experience of living at TriCare James Ommaney,” said Mrs Edmonds.
