As the old adage goes, the family that plays together, stays together.
This rings true at TriCare Runaway Bay Retirement Community which has been home to a number of families over the years. Sisters, brothers and cousins have enjoyed living close to each other in the Village, and sharing the benefits that retirement communities offer.
Lynn McPherson, and her husband Neil, moved to the stunning waterfront estate three years ago after a decision to downsize from their family home.
“We had friends living here at the time so we came to visit and had a look around. We loved the setting, close proximity to facilities and the general peacefulness of the surroundings.
There are many positives to retirement living. We have made so many wonderful friends in the short time we have been here, and are quite involved in the many activities on offer. From Tai Chi and aqua aerobics to craft and playing cards, I have a very active week!” said Mrs McPherson.
As an added bonus, Mrs McPherson’s sister Karleen Davison also lives at the Village, where they share care of their mother, Jose Davison.
With easy access to each other’s units, Lynn and Karleen help each other out on a daily basis with their mother’s day to day care, and enjoy living close to each other whilst still maintaining their independence.
“One of the best times of my day is when I have my morning coffee and watch the dolphins swimming in the canal out our front window. It’s just so lovely; so peaceful. We couldn’t have made a better move at this stage in our lives,” said Mrs McPherson.
