Residents of the relaxed waterfront TriCare Runaway Bay Retirement Community recently celebrated the opening of their newly refurbished lounge with a special wine and cheese afternoon.
The new lounge boasts a library, functional servery and a large projector screen for the ever popular movie nights held at this friendly retirement community.
Village Manager, Malcolm Payne said the renovation had been a great success providing additional space for residents to catch up with each other.
“One of the biggest changes was the development of a dedicated library space for residents.
We now have a light and bright communal area where residents can sit and relax with a book or the newspaper, use the resident computer or complete one of the many jigsaws we have on offer,” said Mr Payne.
The renovation has now freed up additional space upstairs where the library was previously located, allowing for more room in the top level lounge for functions and special Village events.
To mark the opening of the new lounge, in-house chef Jamie Thomas-Davies created a delicious array of cheese and savouries served with wine and champagne which was enjoyed by many.
Mr Payne said residents find the best of both worlds at TriCare Runaway Bay with a wide selection of lifestyle activities and an impressive level of resident services.
“We are committed to continually updating and renewing our Village’s facilities and services for the benefit of our residents.
“With the lounge only completed in the last few weeks, we have already noticed an increase in people enjoying the new space,” said Mr Payne.
