Having always lived a fit and healthy life, it was only natural that Clive Gilchrist wanted to continue this lifestyle when he moved into local TriCare Runaway Bay Retirement Community six months ago.
TriCare Runaway Bay is a relaxed waterfront retirement village on the northern Gold Coast canals. It is an established community where residents enjoy the luxury of more time for themselves to enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities to keep up a great life.
Most weeks you will find Mr Gilchrist in the gym or swimming in one of the Village’s outdoor pools. Not bad for someone who is turning 98 this year.
TriCare Runaway Bay is a happy place to live says Mr Gilchrist.
“It has such a friendly atmosphere and it is very easy living,” he said.
Mr Gilchrist has moved into a serviced studio apartment at TriCare Runaway Bay which offers the convenience of an ensuite and kitchenette, along with a weekly cleaning and laundry service. He enjoys the delicious home-style meals prepared onsite daily at the Village’s Companions restaurant and is at ease, knowing there is a 24 hour emergency call system.
“I also have lovely views from my balcony, overlooking the broadwater and the sub tropical climate makes the Gold Coast a perfect place to live.”
Village Manager, Malcolm Payne says Mr Gilchrist has settled in well at TriCare Runaway Bay and has been welcomed with open arms by all residents.
“He is still actively mobile and lives an independent lifestyle, taking advantage of the Village’s community bus to do his own shopping and enjoying various TriCare Runaway Bay social activities.”
“Retirement living is set up perfectly for residents such as Mr Gilchrist who still want to live independently, while having a wide variety of lifestyle activities and an impressive level of resident services and support,” said Mr Payne.
