Residents at local retirement community TriCare Compton Gardens will enjoy many and varied experiences in 2018.
Day trips have always been an integral part of the Villages activities calendar, providing residents with an opportunity to go beyond the local community and enjoy what Brisbane and greater Queensland has to offer.
TriCare Compton Gardens resident Chris Cottrell helps to co-ordinate the trips for the Village which included a three day trip whale watching around Hervey Bay last September.
“Late last year we sent out a survey to residents to see what they’d like to do in 2018.
With help from Sunstate charters we have tailored a great program of experiences for residents to enjoy over the coming year,” said Mr Cottrell.
Included in the program is the Choc n Chat tour at Poppies Beenleigh Chocolate House, a day trip to Stradbroke Island, a visit to the Victorian Barrack’s Museum and Toowoomba’s beautiful Carnival of Flowers later in the year.
Village Manager Sandra Lasserre believes the bus trips are a good opportunity for residents to enjoy a day away in the company of others.
“The trips provide a friendly social atmosphere for residents while taking in wider cultural, food and wine and outdoor experiences that they may not necessarily to be able to manage on their own,” said Mrs Lasserre.
