TriCare is seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Advisor to join the team in a permanent part-time capacity (30 hours per week), based at our Head Office in Upper Mt Gravatt.
As the Senior HR Business Advisor, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with TriCare’s goals. Reporting to the General Manager – Services, you will provide operational and strategic support across employee relations, recruitment, policy development, training, and compliance. This role is pivotal in ensuring best practices, legislative compliance, and a harmonious workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Employee Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships to support effective HR management. Provide expert advice on performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, terminations, and conflict resolution. Act as a mentor to managers, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
Recruitment: Lead and refine recruitment and selection processes to attract quality applicants. Offer strategic advice on psychometric assessments and decision-making to enhance hiring outcomes.
Policy and Compliance: Advise and train management on HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the latest workplace legislation, including the Fair Work Act and WHS Act. Regularly review and update HR policies to reflect contemporary practices.
Training and Development: Develop and deliver targeted HR training programs to address organisational needs and requests. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Legislative and Industrial Relations: Represent TriCare in Fair Work hearings and ensure compliance with Equal Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination, and other key employment laws.
Reporting and Planning: Prepare government reports, and contribute to divisional HR planning.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge requirements to be successful in this role:
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in a generalist HR role or as an HR Advisor.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to mentor and coach managers effectively.
- Strong knowledge of industrial relations, enterprise bargaining, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
- A customer-focused mindset with discretion and confidentiality.
- A flexible, adaptable, and resilient personality with a strong drive to meet deadlines and deliver results.
