Chief Operating Officer – Elderly Care

Elderly Care is an aged care service provider with approx. 1,900 employees who work across multiple aged care facilities in Queensland and Victoria.  Elderly Care’s primary purpose is the provisional of high quality, person-centred care to aged care residents.

We are recruiting a Chief Operating Officer to oversee sections of the business including workforce planning, financial reporting and analysis, preparation of Board reports, and day-day management of non-care services (including hospitality services). Please refer to the Position Description for further information – 

The successful applicant should possess good financial skills and have experience managing a team. The role is office-based Monday to Friday (8:30am to 5pm) with supervision of staff a key responsibility. The COO will report to the Chief Executive Office of Elderly Care and is a senior management role within Elderly Care.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Analysing operational and financial performance of services to the aged care facilities, and effecting adjustments as required in conjunction with the CEO

Managing the workforce planning team.  Previous experience in this area will be viewed favourably.

Developing the annual budgets

Develop and implement processes to maximise service efficiencies

Prepare monthly reports for the Board

Manage corporate records (filing and achieving systems)

Required skills and experience:

Minimum 5 years in management of a team

Good financial skills allowing analysis of a profit & loss report, and development of budgets

Strong problem-solving and consultation skills

Results-oriented mindset for a focus on delivering outcomes

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programmes
