As we age and our needs and abilities change, living independently at home may no longer be possible. If your loved one requires ongoing care to manage daily tasks, it may be time to consider a move to an Aged Care Residence.
While it can feel daunting to imagine your loved one entering Aged Care, the care and support services they need are available at any time of the day or night, which can provide you both with some much-needed peace of mind. Your loved one will also become part of a friendly community and have access to many activities and facilities that will add fun to their days and enhance their physical and mental health and wellbeing, as well as their quality and enjoyment of life.
If you’re considering Permanent Aged Care for someone you love, you’ll likely have many questions about what it’s like, how it works and how much it costs. To help you gather the information you need, we’ve pulled together the key information on your Aged Care options and how to access them.
What does permanent Aged Care mean?
Living in an Aged Care Residence is an option for older people who need ongoing help to manage essential daily tasks. TriCare Aged Care Residences provide a caring environment, assisting our residents where needed, helping them to maintain their independence wherever possible. Our qualified Carers and Registered Nurses are on hand 24/7 to assist with showering, dressing, continence, medications, mobility and anything else our residents need to look after themselves and feel their best. Our team arrange allied health services appointments if required, regular time outdoors and a range of engaging activities to enhance mood, memory and overall wellbeing.

How much will it cost?
Kawana Waters Aged Care Residence
The cost for Aged Care depends on certain factors which means it will vary from person to person. Factors that determine the cost include the type of Aged Care your loved one is eligible for, their financial situation, and the Aged Care Residence you choose. In standard residential care, the Australian Government sets a basic daily fee determined during the My Aged Care assessment of the resident’s income and assets. If the Aged Care Residence chosen includes hotel-like services or other lifestyle extras, additional fees and charges will apply.
