Willow Glen in beautiful Toowoomba, Retirement Community’s annual Village Christmas party brought residents together for a wonderful evening of food, music and friendship under the stars. These community celebrations are a loved tradition here at TriCare, creating opportunities for our residents to come together and celebrate the festive season.
Helping hands and a special menu
The evening began with a thoughtfully prepared three-course dinner from our kitchen team. Our residents enjoyed catching up with friends while savouring each course, with the traditional plum pudding proving to be a perfect festive finish to the meal.
Everyone was particularly grateful to Ally’s family, who returned as volunteers this year. Their help with serving meals, assisting residents, and keeping everything running smoothly was invaluable.
Many residents commented on how much they enjoyed having a proper Christmas dinner – with their TriCare family.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a little song and dance
Throughout the evening, we were treated to delightful musical performances by some of our talented residents.
Plus staff Barbara and Judith shared their beautiful voices with the community, while Ian kept perfect rhythm on the tambourine.
The music created a festive atmosphere that had many residents singing along and sharing memories of Christmases past.
Competitive Christmas trivia
Another highlight of the evening was our Christmas trivia competition, which brought out everyone’s competitive spirit.
Questions covered everything from holiday traditions to Christmas carols, with bonus points adding extra excitement to the mix.
After a close contest, two tables ended up sharing first place – proving we have plenty of Christmas experts in our Residence!
These events showcase our strong community spirit at TriCare. Learn more about Willow Glen Retirement Community here.
