Our Aged Care Residences are alive with the sound of music!

Music has some amazing benefits to our minds and bodies as we age. Every day, we see how song and dance can help our residents feel happier, more energetic and more connected to those around them. Here at TriCare, each of our Aged Care Residences gets involved in all sorts of activities and events that revolve around listening or dancing to music. The power of a good tune has the ability to bring our communities closer together, while providing our residents with experiences that boost their health and wellbeing.

The benefits of singing and dancing along to music

Research shows that music isn’t just something we enjoy – it can also largely contribute towards our health and wellbeing. Music has been linked to reduced stress, improved memory, increased social interaction and even a range of healing benefits. Each of our Aged Care Residences have their very own special Lifestyle Team that coordinates fun, engaging and wellbeing-boosting activities for our residents to get involved in, and music regularly plays a key role.

Live performances that light up lives!

Music concerts are one of the most-loved activities among our Aged Care Residences. Whether the concert is held in one of our onsite entertainment rooms or at an event space nearby, all of our residents love getting together to listen to their favourite tunes and even stand up for a boogie.

Music concerts always leave our staff and residents in a feel-good mood, filling each Residence with laughter and loud voices singing along. Our residents love to send in their song requests, and it makes out for a great night reminiscing on the classics or belting it out to new favourites.

Dancing is another great form of exercise, and every music concert is an excellent way for our residents to be active in a fun way. Whether they’re waving their arms from the comfort of their seats, or they’re moving and grooving from the centre of the stage, it is always a fun time for everyone.

Our residents’ appreciation for music doesn’t just stop at their experiences inside the Residence, either. Our Lifestyle team loves coordinating all sorts of fun group outings for our residents to come along to, including trips out to concerts, shows, and performances.

All of our Aged Care Residences are ideally located near cities with a rich culture to explore, offering our residents an array of fun things to do, see, and listen to!

Karaoke and happy hour: where every TriCare resident shines

It’s impossible to not have fun when you combine Karaoke and Happy Hour, and our residents look forward to this event every time it rolls around. The enthusiasm and participation from our residents makes every Happy Hour special, with some residents even bringing along their friends and family for the fun evening event. From taking turns singing into the microphone to line dancing with their grandchildren, our residents and staff always have a grand ol’ time when it’s karaoke time!

Travelling around the world with international music

Here at TriCare, we love to host all sorts of themed events and activities for our residents to enjoy. These immersive experiences help foster engagement among our residents, allowing everyone to always keep learning and experiencing something new. Music plays a big role in our themed activities, as they always add to the party atmosphere or can help our residents immerse themselves into the theme, culture or holiday.

Whether our residents are listening along to classical British music during their Royal Morning Tea Party, traditional German music during their fun Oktoberfest celebrations, or lively Italian music during their Italian-themed mealtime— our residents love getting into the spirit, thanks to the power of melodies.
