First opened on Mar 6, 1987 as a 130 independent unit facility on a 12-acre site in Box Hill South, Victoria, Hayville was originally owned by the Salvation Army. In Jul 2005, Hayville was acquired and became part of the TriCare family. Since then, the central common building has undergone further expansion and improvement.
Dawn Yelland, who was the first resident at Hayville in 1987 was the inaugural guest of honour at the party and is looking to celebrate her 90th birthday next year.
Some of the residents like Dawn, affectionately known as “first fleeters” have been living at Hayville since the very beginning in 1987. Still going strong, there are 8 first fleeters in residence at Hayville today. Of these, Dawn Yelland, Fran Keller & Eileen Durant who attended the event were each honoured with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Here’s to another great 30 years at TriCare Hayville.
