TriCare Runaway Bay Retirement Community Village Manager, Andrew George said “Life in a retirement village is perfect for those who are looking forward to an easier lifestyle. Our Independent Living Units may be smaller than your family home, meaning more time for leisurely pursuits”.
This is exactly what Garrie and Pamela Vidler were after.
Their family home in Mollymook, on the South Coast of New South Wales, was becoming too much for them to maintain.
“We are not getting any younger and one day one of us is going to be alone. It’s not something you like to think about, but it was important as well for both us and our family that we made sure that when the time came we had the support and care from like-minded people,” said Garrie.
Having holidayed at the Gold Coast for the past 10 years, retired engineer Garrie Vidler and his wife Pamela opted for a sea change moving into Unit 50 at Runaway Bay Retirement Community earlier this year.
“Having inspected retirement village’s closer to home and on the Gold Coast, Runaway Bay Retirement Community stood out because of its park like surrounds, beautiful views of the canal, pristine residences and welcoming community,” said Garrie.
“Our new home is the perfect base with local shops, eateries, beaches and attractions close by. It is also nice to know that the aged care residence is next door should we need it,” said Garrie.
“We love the new opportunities; enjoying more time for local adventures. I am even learning Croquet for the first time,” said Garrie.
