Residents of TriCare James Ommaney Retirement Community enjoyed a lovely river cruise earlier this month as part of their busy social calendar.
Braving the elements, residents boarded River City Cruise’s M.V. Neptune from Brisbane’s South Bank for an hour and a half trip down the river, and memory lane, taking in some of Brisbane’s most iconic sites such as Kangaroo Point Cliffs, City Centre and the Story Bridge.
Headed for Breakfast Creek, everyone had a wonderful time listening to the knowledgeable commentary from the Captain.
Many of the residents commented that they learnt so much more about Brisbane than they ever knew and that the delicious Devonshire tea topped off the morning perfectly!
With Easter and ANZAC day fast approaching residents are getting ready for the annual Easter Party with lovely food and prizes for the best decorated hats and ties.
ANZAC day is always an important date on the calendar and will be commemorated with the residents from Jindalee Aged Care in a combined service to show respect and reflect on the positives of being in such a supportive environment.
Next month residents will visit another TriCare Village, Compton Gardens Retirement Community in Aspley as well as a trip to one of Australia’s most visited regional galleries, Ipswich Art Gallery.
